Imprisoned Journalist
New Banksy's artwork on the wall of a British prison draws attention to Julian's incarceration. Journalism is not a crime.
During his tour in New York (Day 9) Banksy unveiled one of his most politically charged installations to date – the mural "Crazy Horse" with an audio guide that includes a clip from the Collateral Murder video published by Wikileaks.
The classified US military video was leaked by Chelsea Manning to WikiLeaks in April 2010. WikiLeaks released it under the title "Collateral Murder". The graphic video depicts the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad, including two Reuters news staff.
Mass surveillance is an important topic for many, including artists like Banksy and the WikiLeaks journalist Julian Assange (Amazon Atlas, Vault 7 and other reports).

[ ! ] Open Letter to Banksy
Artists for Assange (editors) and UK's Don’t Extradite Assange campaign hereby call on Banksy to help us now and bring to public attention the cruelty, torture and potential extradition of Assange to the USA. There he would suffer, for the rest of his life, for doing bold journalism that has exposed war crimes and human rights abuses as well as corporate and environmental violations and powers that perpetuate misery for profit.
We hope this message will reach you and our plea will reach your heart. We are not just defending an individual who has suffered so much for his principles, we are terrified for the future of journalism and our ability to be informed.
